Bug List Assignment 2A

Bug List:

4. Airport security lines that are deemed important and take over an hour but are led by individuals who look like all the life has been sucked out of them.
Why does it exist: Air travel is a very popular mode of transportation, and because buying airline tickets comes with very little resistance, security must ensure everyone's safety.

5. Constant positive feedback youth sports parents give to their children, which creates average play and soft attitudes.

6. When an individual's side in a given argument revolves around a point they either read on someones personal blog or "heard" from someone they struggle to remember.

11. When people struggle with self confidence even after multiple people try to convince them that they have nothing to worry about.
Why does it exist: Self-confidence cannot be bottled and sold to the mass public, and often individual shortcomings in personality come from past experiences.

12. When someone posts every detail of their life on social media for their dwindling followers to consume as if they are on some social
Why does it exist: Posting on social media provides a somewhat communal feel, and posting everyday action and receiving virtual emotional feedback, such as likes, creates a sense of acceptance.

Why does it exist: Overreaction is the human way of overcoming an event that did not go in their favor and can be helpful in coping with eventual defeat.

Reflection:

I found this assignment to be less difficult in terms of coming up with the list of twenty "bugs," and more difficult to explain while they exist. The change in mindset and trying to understand the reason behind things that I feel to be problematic is a difficult switch to make. In the end, I did not find this assignment to be too challenging, but found out a little more about myself and what bothers me most.

  1. Hi Andrew,
I got quite a kick reading some of the things on your bug list and I must say, that I agree with most of them. *Cough Cough number 1: all of the "Jags" fans right now. But aside from that, I agree that it was not too hard to come up with things "bug" me, but to try and explain why they exist. This assignment helped me form a new way of thinking of how many entrepreneurs start to come up with the thought behind their ideas.
